Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Teewise. They cover our community rules, the AI caddie, Premium subscriptions, paid tee-time bookings and refunds, and the limits of our responsibility.

Last updated: 24 September 2026

1. Who we are and this agreement

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Teewise Computer Systems Design LLC, a limited liability company established in the United Arab Emirates with trade licence number 1457664 and registered office at Office 105 - 215, Muna Aljaziri Building - 105, Al Marrar, Deira, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“Teewise”, “we”, “us”). We operate Teewise from the United Arab Emirates and offer it to golfers in the UAE and elsewhere. By creating an account or using the Teewise app you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility and age requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to use Teewise. We may ask for reasonable evidence of your age and may suspend accounts where we reasonably believe this requirement is not met.

3. Your account and security

You can create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials and devices secure. Keep your account details accurate and up to date. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately at hello@teewisegolf.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or our community rules (see section 15).

4. Community rules

Teewise is a social app. When you create a profile, host or join games, book tee times, or share content with other players, you agree not to post or share content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexual, violent, deceptive, or that infringes someone else’s rights. You agree not to impersonate another person, post spam, misuse the booking or payment features, or use the app to cheat at matchmaking or scoring. Treat other players, golf course staff and our team with respect. We review reports of violations promptly. Our target is to begin review within 24 hours, although this is a target rather than a guarantee, and we may remove content, restrict features, cancel bookings, or suspend or terminate accounts.

5. Reporting and blocking

You can report other users or content from within the app, and you can block any user from interacting with you. We rely on these reports to keep Teewise safe. Knowingly false or abusive reports are themselves a violation of these Terms. To protect the community, reports may be retained in anonymised form even after the reporting or reported account has been deleted.

6. Your content and the licence you give us

You retain ownership of the content you create in Teewise: your profile information, avatar photo, game names, round notes, chat messages, feedback, and any photos you attach to AI caddie conversations. You grant Teewise a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and process that content solely as needed to operate, improve and moderate the app. For photos you send to the AI caddie, this includes transmitting the image to our AI provider (OpenAI) so it can generate a reply. Please note that your avatar photo is publicly visible to anyone who has its link, so choose it accordingly. If you delete your account this licence ends, except for content other users have already legitimately saved (for example a screenshot of a shared scorecard) and records we are legally required to keep, as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. AI caddie

The AI caddie provides tips, commentary and conversation generated by large language models operated by OpenAI, our sole AI provider. The caddie is not a certified coach, medical professional or safety device, and its suggestions are for informational and entertainment purposes only. It can be wrong. Do not rely on the caddie for decisions that affect your health or safety. Your official scores and points are those recorded and computed by the app’s scorecard; any scores, points or scoring-variation calculations the caddie gives you are informational only and do not override the official scorecard. The caddie only works after you give explicit consent in the app, and that consent is enforced on our servers. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Settings, which switches the caddie off and lets you delete your caddie chat history and the caddie’s stored memory about you. What we send to OpenAI and how long it is kept is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. GPS distances, course data and weather

Where available, Teewise shows GPS-based distances to greens, course maps and weather for your round. These are estimates derived from your device’s location, third-party map and course data, and third-party weather services. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Use them for general guidance only, never for safety decisions, and always follow the rules and instructions of the golf course you are playing.

9. Premium subscriptions

Some features require a Teewise Premium subscription. Subscriptions are sold through the App Store or Google Play; billing, renewal and cancellation are handled by Apple or Google under their standard terms, with our partner RevenueCat processing subscription entitlements on our behalf. Where a free trial is offered, new subscribers receive 7 days free and are charged when the trial ends unless they cancel first. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your device’s subscription settings, and you can restore previous purchases from Settings in the app. Important: deleting your Teewise account does NOT cancel your subscription. You must also cancel it with Apple or Google, or you will continue to be charged. Refunds for subscription payments are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; unused portions of a current billing period are not refundable by Teewise.

10. App store terms

You download Teewise from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their rules apply alongside these Terms. These Terms are between you and Teewise only. Apple and Google are not parties to them, have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and are not responsible for the app or for addressing any claims relating to it (including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, and claims that the app infringes someone else’s intellectual property). Responsibility for the app and its content rests with us. If you downloaded the app from the App Store: your licence to use the app is limited to use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms; if the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund any purchase price you paid for the app itself, and to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation; you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, entitled to enforce them against you. Questions, complaints and support requests should come to us at hello@teewisegolf.com, not to Apple or Google.

11. Paid tee-time bookings and fees

Teewise offers a concierge tee-time booking service at participating golf courses. When a host requests a booking, our team liaises with the course, and the course, an independent business, not part of Teewise, confirms the tee time. Tee-time reservations are managed end to end by our booking team: players do not book, amend or cancel reservations with the course directly, and there is no separate in-app action to cancel just the tee-time reservation. Cancellation happens through the game itself: if a game with a booking is cancelled, our team automatically releases the reservation with the course (see section 12). Some games have paid seats: each player pays for their own seat in the game by card. Seat payments are handled inside the app by our payment provider, Stripe. Paying for a seat works in two steps: when you pay, Stripe places a hold (a card authorisation) on your card for the full amount, the money is reserved on your card but not taken, and your card is only actually charged at the refund deadline described in section 12, exactly 72 hours before the confirmed tee-off time. If you buy a seat when tee-off is already less than 72 hours away, there is no hold stage and your card is charged straight away. Tee times can be requested up to 30 days before tee-off, but we do not ask for your card that far out: a hold is never placed more than 7 days before the moment your card is charged, so a hold never stays on your card for more than 7 days before it is either charged or released. Seat payments are NOT App Store or Google Play purchases, and your card details go directly to Stripe. Teewise never sees or stores your card number. All seat prices are in UAE dirhams (AED) only. The total held and then charged is the seat amount plus a flat AED 10 Teewise booking fee; the fee is waived while you have an active Premium subscription, is fixed at the moment of checkout, and is always included in the total shown to you before you pay. When you start a payment, your seat is reserved for at least 30 minutes (the reservation is extended while you are actively completing payment, up to a maximum of 2 hours); if payment is not completed before the reservation ends, it is released and the seat may be taken by another player. All bookings are subject to confirmation by the golf course, and the course’s own rules (such as dress code, handicap requirements and pace of play) apply on the day. If the course confirms a different tee time from the one requested, the refund deadline in section 12, and with it the moment your card is charged, is recalculated from the confirmed tee time. The contact details you provide with a booking request are shared with our booking staff and with the golf course so they can manage your booking.

12. Refunds and cancellation for paid bookings

These rules apply to paid seats in tee-time bookings. The app shows you a short summary of them before you pay. How seat payment works: for seats bought more than 72 hours before tee-off, Stripe places a hold (a card authorisation) on your card for the full amount when you pay, the money is reserved but not taken, and your card is actually charged at the refund deadline, which is exactly 72 hours before the confirmed tee-off time. The deadline, and with it the moment of charge, moves if the course confirms a changed tee time. Before the deadline no money has left your account, so cancelling releases the hold rather than triggering a refund; after the deadline your card has been charged, and the rules below say when a charge is refunded. Cancellation always happens through the game: every player cancels their own seat or leaves the game. Games organised by Teewise have no host. On a game a player started, that player is the host; if the host leaves, another player in the game can take over as host and the game goes ahead, and if nobody can take over, the game is cancelled. The tee-time reservation itself cannot be cancelled separately: when a game is cancelled, Teewise releases the reservation with the course. (a) If you cancel your seat or leave the game MORE than 72 hours before the confirmed tee-off time, the hold on your card, including the booking fee, is released immediately and you are never charged. Because no money was taken, there is no refund to wait for; depending on your bank, the released amount may continue to show as pending on your statement for a short time before it disappears, but it will not be charged. (b) If you cancel or leave WITHIN 72 hours of tee-off, your card has already been charged at the deadline; you forfeit your seat and that charge is not refunded. (c) If you buy a seat when tee-off is already less than 72 hours away, the refund deadline has already passed, so your card is charged straight away, there is no hold stage, and the purchase is non-refundable from the moment you pay; the app tells you this and requires you to expressly acknowledge it before paying. (d) At the refund deadline we charge the card you used for the hold. If that charge fails, for example because the card has expired, been cancelled or has insufficient funds, your seat is removed from the game, you are not charged anything, and the seat may be offered to another player; the app notifies you if this happens. To keep your seat, make sure the card you paid with will still work at the deadline. (e) If the game is cancelled by the host or by course staff, including where the golf course declines or cannot honour the booking and the game is cancelled as a result, every other paid player gets all their money back regardless of the 72-hour window: holds not yet charged are released immediately, and charges already taken are refunded in full. The host’s own seat still follows the 72-hour rule: for example, a host who cancels inside the window forfeits their own seat, and if that cancels the game, everyone else gets their money back. If another player takes over as host instead, the game goes ahead and every other seat stays as it is. (f) If you do not show up, or the game expires without being played, seats past the refund deadline, where your card has already been charged, are forfeited, and no refund is due. (g) If you voluntarily give up your seat inside the window, after your card has been charged, and that seat is later resold to another player, we automatically refund vacated seats in the order players left: first to leave, first refunded. (h) Where your card has actually been charged and a refund is due under this section, the refund is made through Stripe to the original payment card only, and typically appears on your statement within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank. Releasing a hold is not a refund: no money was taken, so that waiting period does not apply to it, beyond your bank removing the pending amount from your statement. (i) UAE consumer protection law does not provide a general distance-selling cooling-off right for purchases like these. The 72-hour refund window in this section, under which cancelling before the deadline costs you nothing because only a hold has been placed, is a contractual right that Teewise chooses to offer, and paragraphs (a) to (h) describe exactly when it applies. (j) Nothing in this section affects any mandatory rights you have under the UAE Consumer Protection Law (Federal Law No. 15 of 2020) and its executive regulations, including where a service is defective or not provided as agreed.

13. Intellectual property

The Teewise app, including its design, branding, software, course data compilations and AI caddie experience, is owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial golfing. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, scrape or redistribute any part of the app except as permitted by applicable law.

14. Service changes and availability

We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we may deliver updates to the app automatically. We try to keep Teewise available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and some features depend on third parties we do not control: app stores, payment providers, AI and weather services, and golf courses. We may perform maintenance or take the app offline briefly to fix problems. If we permanently withdraw a paid feature you have already paid for, the refund rules in section 12 apply to bookings, and Apple’s or Google’s policies apply to subscriptions.

15. Suspension, termination and account deletion

You can stop using Teewise at any time and delete your account from Settings; deletion is permanent and removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account, or restrict features, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect other users. Remember that deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription (see section 9). If your account is deleted or terminated while you hold a paid seat in an upcoming game, that is treated as you leaving the game, and the refund rules in section 12 apply.

16. Disclaimers

Golf carries inherent risks. You are responsible for your own safety, fitness and conduct on the course, and for complying with each course’s rules. Teewise is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. We do not warrant that distances, scores, statistics, weather, AI caddie output or course information are accurate or complete. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of golf courses, other players or third-party services, or for injuries, accidents or losses that occur during or after a round of golf.

17. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, and nothing in these Terms reduces your statutory rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of AED 500 or the amounts you paid to Teewise in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

18. Governing law, disputes and where we operate

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates in Dubai, except that if you live in another country you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer protection laws of that country and may be able to bring proceedings there. Teewise operates from the United Arab Emirates and offers its services in the UAE and elsewhere, including tee-time bookings at UAE golf courses priced in AED. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@teewisegolf.com and we will try to resolve it informally.

19. General

If any part of these Terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms continues in full force. If we do not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, we are not giving that right up. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a successor to our business, provided the transfer does not reduce your rights. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the app and replace any earlier versions. Except for Apple and Google as described in section 10, these Terms are not intended to give any rights to, or to be enforceable by, anyone who is not a party to them.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we add features or when the law changes. If we make a material change we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms. For paid seats, the booking and refund rules shown to you at the time you paid continue to apply to that purchase.
